USL Super League Carolina announced as one of the first USL Super League clubs
Charlotte, N.C. (May 16, 2023) – In conjunction with the USL Super League, Empower Sports and Entertainment LLC, is proud to launch USL Super League Carolina, one of the first USL Super League markets that will bring world-class professional women’s soccer closer to home for more players, fans and communities across the United States.
Set to kick off in August 2024, the Super League intends to launch as a first division league, reflecting its commitment to the highest standards in American Soccer and a collective vision to be a global leader in women’s soccer on and off the field.
“We are thrilled to have Carolina among the initial markets for the Super League,” said Amanda Vandervort, USL Super League President. “Super League Carolina is unique as the club sits close to the North Carolina and South Carolina border, so women’s soccer fans from both states will now have more opportunities to celebrate the game they love at the highest level.”
Super League Carolina will become the piedmont region’s first women’s professional soccer team. The club will be based in Charlotte, N.C. within easy driving distance of the areas booming local suburbs like Huntersville, Mooresville, Matthews, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, York County, Tega Cay, Belmont, Concord, Salisbury, Statesville and Gastonia. The team will play home matches at the iconic, historic American Legion Memorial Stadium.
The club is committed to building a brand which represents the values, vision and voices of the passionate women’s soccer fans across the western Carolina region. In addition to an online, digital Super League Carolina Fan Forum, the club will host a series of listening sessions with women and women’s soccer fans in the community to gain insight on branding, values, team names and more. The official club branding will be unveiled at a community event after an extensive process of gaining fan input.
Super League Carolina is now accepting 2024 Season Ticket Deposits. $50 guarantees VIP First Priority access to select your seats. For a limited time, the first fans to make their deposit will receive a Super League Carolina branded t-shirt and decal, included with their purchase.
