Carolina Ascent FC:
Carolina Ascent FC will play home matches at the iconic, historic American Legion Memorial Stadium. The venue is located in the Elizabeth neighborhood on the corner of 7th Street and Charlottetowne Avenue, just minutes away from Uptown, Plaza Midwood and Myers Park. The game day experience is enhanced with striking Charlotte city skyline views that rise from behind the North end goal.
The stadium boasts 10,500 seats, and its unique “U” shape hovers over the pitch engaging fans in every aspect of the match from player warmups to halftime entertainment and post-game autograph sessions.
Carolina Ascent is the first women’s professional sports team to call Charlotte home since the Charlotte Sting, one of the eight original WNBA franchises that began play in 1997 as the sister team to the Charlotte Hornets. Carolina Ascent currently represents the highest level of women’s professional soccer in the region.

USL Super League:
The USL Super League is a professional women’s soccer league set to kick off in August 2024. The USL Super League has committed to U.S. Soccer’s Division One standards, reflecting its collective vision to be a global leader in women’s soccer on and off the field while providing more opportunities for more women in more communities. The inaugural 2024 season will feature 8 teams with additional teams set to join in subsequent seasons.
The USL Super League’s inaugural season will kick off in August 2024 and run to June 2025, becoming the first and only U.S.-based professional soccer league competing on the traditional international soccer calendar. The “fall-to-summer” calendar prioritizes the fan experience, on-field competition, and commercial opportunities.

The USL Super League’s intent to launch as a first division league reflects a commitment to operating at the highest possible standards for women’s soccer in America and a collective vision to be a global leader in women’s soccer on and off the field. The USL Super League will follow U.S. Soccer’s sanctioning process.
The USL Super League will be the only American soccer league aligned with the global game’s traditional club calendar, running from August to June. This calendar prioritizes the fan experience, on-field competition, and commercial opportunities, ensuring players are easily able to represent both club and country, and facilitating USL Super League clubs’ participation in the emerging global women’s transfer market.
The USL Super League sits at the top of the USL’s distinct youth-to-pro women’s pathway. The complete pathway includes the USL W League, the leading pre-professional women’s soccer league in the United States; the USL Academy, an advanced talent-development platform connected to professional and pre-professional USL clubs; and the Super Y League, a premier national youth competition.

Yes! Carolina Ascent FC is one of eight teams competing in the USL W League’s South Atlantic Conference in 2024. The team is the pre-professional affiliate for Carolina Ascent FC’s USL Super League team. Head Coach, Erika Duncan leads the squad in 2024 and will join Super League Carolina as an Assistant Coach this August. The Carolina Ascent USL W League program is focused on developing local soccer talent and providing new, competitive environments for young women across the Carolinas who dream of playing professional soccer. The team’s technical and operational management are led by Affiliate, Charlotte Independence Soccer Club.
