Our Story:
On May 16, 2023, it was announced that a new Division I professional women’s soccer team would plant roots in the Carolinas. Carolina Ascent FC, formerly Super League Carolina, is one of the eight inaugural franchises to launch with the USL Super League, the country’s newest Division I women’s professional soccer league, which is set to kick off in August 2024.
Carolina Ascent is the first women’s professional sports team to call Charlotte home since the Charlotte Sting, one of the eight original WNBA franchises that began play in 1997 as the sister team to the Charlotte Hornets.
Our brand tells the story of a club that’s on a quest for greatness: in soccer, in our community and in our environment. We’ll embrace our journey, step by step, building this club with the fans of the Carolinas. Every win, every loss, every moment … TOGETHER WE RISE knowing it will always be WORTH THE CLIMB.
