CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 10, 2024) – Super League Carolina, the Carolina’s newest women’s professional soccer team, today announced Laura Stroud as the club’s lead Creative Content Producer. Stroud, a North Carolina native, returns to the Queen City following an internship with the Charlotte Independence in Summer 2023. She recently graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Converged Journalism from Campbell University.
“We’re thrilled that the new Super League Carolina team is providing opportunities for more women to join our team,” Super League Carolina COO, Tim Schuldt, explained. “Laura was a tremendous intern last season, and we look forward to her creating and delivering entertaining and fun content to help build the brand for our new team, as we prepare for our inaugural season.”
During her time with the Charlotte Independence as a Photography and Videography Intern, Stroud produced photo and video content for social media and other digital communications. Her work featured unique perspectives of gameday action, training highlight videos, fan experience photos, and many other types of content for club and media use.
While a student at Campbell, Stroud gained experience as a sports photographer for the athletic department. She built a portfolio shooting for numerous sports including, soccer, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, and swimming.
Stroud also has experience photographing MLS, MLS Next Pro, and NWSL games. Her work has been utilized by the USL, Capelli, and multiple international media outlets.
“I’m so excited to be a part of Super League Carolina’s inaugural season,” Stroud expressed. “I am passionate about soccer and helping create opportunities for women in sports. I hope to help bring visibility and quality coverage to this team. I believe in the mission of Super League Carolina and can’t wait to see what we accomplish in 2024.”
