CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 21, 2024) – Super League Carolina announced today the hiring of Hanna Ryberg as the Manager of Events and Licensed Merchandise. In this role, Ryberg’s focus will be on community engagement and merchandise sales for the Carolina’s newest women’s professional soccer team.
“The foundation of this club is inspired by the communities we serve,” explained Ryberg. “Super League Carolina will not only provide new opportunities for women in soccer, but we will also shape new opportunities for young girls and women who live, work and play in this community each and every day. I’m really excited to meet all the Super League Carolina fans and be part of a women’s professional soccer club that’s going to change this community forever.”
Ryberg comes to the Carolinas with a wealth of experience in community outreach, player development, and client services. She joins the club from the Rocket City Trash Pandas, the minor league baseball affiliate of the Anaheim Angels.
In 2022, she worked for Liverpool FC Foundation in New York as the Employability Coordinator and sports coach. The Global Works program run by the foundation provided disadvantaged youth with mentoring to prepare them for entering the workforce, combined with physical activity sessions.
Previously, Ryberg spent over two years with the New York Red Bulls as a Client Services Representative. She helped execute camps and clinics and created a plug and play curriculum entitled “Scoring with Soccer” for youth in disadvantaged areas, as well as exploring additional programming for athletes with special needs.
While living in Washington D.C., Ryberg served as the Community Outreach Officer for the Manchester City Supporters Club, the Capital City Blues, where she planned and organized fundraisers, coordinated volunteers, and liaised with the Manchester City staff to help grow the game of soccer in the United States. Ryberg also coached with the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, helping immerse underprivileged youth in a positive sports environment which encourages teamwork and sportsmanship.
Another project Ryberg volunteered with in Washington D.C. was the District Sports Champions League Tournament which raised money for DC United’s charity, DC SCORES. She was the point of contact for supporters groups in the area to communicate event details.

Ryberg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Taylor University. She continued her education at the University of Bradford in England where she earned a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution. Her studies included a dissertation entitled “Sport as Peace and Sport as War in Northern Ireland”.
While completing her degree, Ryberg was a Volunteer Coach with Football4Peace at the University of Brighton. She partnered with The Irish Football Association to deliver cross-community soccer camps in Derry, Northern Ireland.
