Cornelius, N.C. native signs with Carolina Ascent after impressive European goal scoring season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 11, 2024) – Carolina Ascent Football Club announced today the signing of Ashlynn Serepca for the 2024/25 USL Super League season, pending league and federation approval. Carolina Ascent FC will host the first-ever USL Super League match on Saturday, August 17 at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Season tickets are on sale now at CarolinaAscent.com/tickets.
A proven goal-scorer, Serepca joins her new hometown team after playing professionally in Austria for FC Pinzgau Saalfelden. Serepca scored 16 goals in 12 games during the 2024 season.
“We are delighted to announce Ashlynn’s signing,” Head Coach Philip Poole shared. “We made the decision to pursue her really early in our recruitment process. It was important for us to identify the best professional talent to come out of the Carolinas and convince them to come home. Ashlynn has proven she is ready for this step based on the season she’s just had in Europe. Ashlynn will be an amazing addition to our team on and off the field.”
Serepca left a lasting impact on the University of Alabama soccer program. She finished her time with the Crimson Tide ranked fourth all-time in career game-winning goals (7) and second all-time in single-season game-winning goals (6). Serepca capped off her final year as an SEC Regular Season Champion and NCAA Semifinalist.
As a graduate student, Serepca scored 10 goals, featuring the six game-winners and three goals in the NCAA Tournament. Her 10 goals were second-most on the team and fourth-most in the SEC. She started all 27 games of the season and was named to the SEC All-Tournament Team.
Ahead of the 2021 season with the Crimson Tide, Serepca was selected for the SEC Preseason Watch List. She started all 22 games and led the team in points with 13 while tying as the team leader in goals (5) and assists (3).

Serepca was a highly-touted recruit entering college. TopDrawer Soccer ranked her 10th nationally, and she was a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in North Carolina. Serepca represented the United States at the U16, U17, and U18 levels and was also an Olympic Development Program (ODP) runner-up. Serepca, who grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina, playing club soccer for the Carolina Rapids. In 2016, she helped her team reach the U.S. Club Soccer National Championships. The next year, she led her team to the 2017 USYS National Championships.
