Club invites players ages U16-U19 with regional or national experience.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 3, 2024) – Carolina Ascent FC announced today it will host a tryout for the club’s U20 USL Academy team, an elite youth platform that creates optimal player development environments for local youth prospects. The tryout will take place on Sunday, April 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Richard Barry Park, 13707 Beatties Ford Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078.
There is no cost to participate, but please register here.
The tryout is for girls ages U16-U19 who have regional or national playing experience. The U20 USL Academy team will train from May 15 to July 10 and play six games throughout that time period against regional opponents.

ABOUT CAROLINA ASCENT FC USL ACADEMY PROGRAM:
The Carolina Ascent FC USL Academy team is one of four teams competing in the USL Academy League’s Southeast Coast Division. Jay Lockhart leads the squad as Head Coach in 2024. The Carolina Ascent USL Academy program provides a high-level pre-professional training environment, with a direct connection to the Carolina Ascent USL Super League professional women’s team. The team’s technical and operational management are led by Affiliate, Charlotte Independence Soccer Club.

The USL Academy provides USL professional clubs an elite youth platform to create optimal player development environments and provide local youth prospects the best chance of reaching the professional level. It hosts meaningful games to aid in those players’ development and to provide all clubs an opportunity to compete amongst each other in regionalized competition.
