
CHARLOTTE, NC (June 13, 2026) – Second half goals from Hannah Morgan and Maria Tapia led Carolina Ascent W League team to their third win of the season on Saturday, defeating Charlotte Eagles 2-0.
The win moves Carolina Ascent into third place in the South Atlantic Division, trailing only NC Courage U23s and the Eagles.
The battle between two of the top teams in the division started with a scoreless first half. The halftime sub brought on Morgan and she paid immediate dividends, firing the Ascent into the lead just six minutes later. In the 66th minute, Tapia netted her first goal of the season to double the advantage.
Reese DeJong preserved the shutout for the Ascent.
Carolina next takes the pitch Tuesday night, taking on NC Fusion at 6:30 at Hough High School.
